Lower Mustang Trek-10 days

The Lower Mustang Trek is a captivating journey through the lower region of the Mustang district in Nepal,renowned for its richness and historical significance. Lower Mustang trek is a part of Annapurna Conservation Area arts with the fight from Pokhara to Jomsom up to Muktinath. Trekkers can enjoy breathe taking views of Mt. Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri and other mountain like Nilgiri and Tukuche Peak.

The Lower Mustang area is also known as the Apple capital, renowned for its Apple brandy and traditional whitewashed houses. Trekkers can encounter traditional tibetain, buddhist culture, visit amcient monastries.

Muktinath: A significant pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists, Muktinath features a sacred temple and numerous natural springs. The area is also known for its stunning landscapes and panoramic views of the Himalayas.

Day 1: Arrival at Tribhuvan Int’l airport

  • Transfer to hotel

(Documentation/ briefing and shot sightseeing if possible around Kathmandu)

Day 2: Fly to Pokhara

  • Activities: Arrive in Pokhara, a picturesque city known for its lakes and mountain views. Spend the day relaxing and preparing for your trek.
  • Accommodation: Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 3: Flight to Jomsom and Trek to Kagbeni

  • Morning: Take a short, scenic flight from Pokhara to Jomsom.
  • Afternoon: Trek from Jomsom to Kagbeni (approx. 3-4 hours, 2,800 m). Kagbeni is a charming village with traditional Tibetan architecture.
  • Accommodation: Teahouse in Kagbeni.

Day 4: Kagbeni to Muktinath

  • Morning: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath (approx. 5-6 hours, 3,710 m). Muktinath is a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists, known for its temple and holy springs.
  • Afternoon: Explore the Muktinath temple and its surroundings.
  • Accommodation: Teahouse in Muktinath.

Day 5: Muktinath to Marpha

  • Morning: Trek from Muktinath to Marpha (approx. 5-6 hours, 2,670 m). Marpha is famous for its apples and apple products.
  • Afternoon: Explore the village and try some local apple products.
  • Accommodation: Teahouse in Marpha.

Day 6: Marpha to Kalopani

  • Morning: Trek from Marpha to Kalopani (approx. 5-6 hours, 2,540 m). This village offers stunning views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.
  • Accommodation: Teahouse in Kalopani.

Day 7: Kalopani to Tatopani

  • Morning: Trek from Kalopani to Tatopani (approx. 5-6 hours, 1,200 m). Tatopani is known for its natural hot springs where you can relax and rejuvenate.
  • Accommodation: Teahouse in Tatopani.

Day 8: Tatopani to Pokhara

  • Morning: Drive or trek from Tatopani to Beni (approx. 2-3 hours), then take a bus or jeep back to Pokhara (approx. 3-4 hours).
  • Afternoon: Arrive in Pokhara and relax.
  • Accommodation: Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 9: Fly to Kathmandu

  • Activities: Depending on your flight schedule, you can explore more of Pokhara or prepare for your departure.

Optional Days:

  • Extra Days in Pokhara: If you have extra time, you might want to spend an additional day in Pokhara to enjoy activities such as boating on Phewa Lake, visiting the World Peace Pagoda, or exploring local markets.
